19Last night four of the nine San Antonio mayoral candidates met in a televised debate at UTSA moderate by KENS5 anchor Deborah Knapp. From the Express-News:
Councilwoman Sheila McNeil, a late arrival to the mayor's race, went head-to-head with her three major opponents in her first televised debate Wednesday night.
But like former Councilman Julián Castro, Councilwoman Diane Cibrian and PR consultant Trish DeBerry-Mejia, McNeil made it through the 90-minute forum at the University of Texas at San Antonio unscathed.
The sour economy colored early questions about job creation and retention, and whether the candidates would vow to lower property taxes.
